Dancing With The Stars named its 3 finalists last night. Maria Menounos and her partner Derek Hough were eliminated, despite, having the best scores from Monday night. That leaves Donald Driver, William Levy and Katherine Jenkins in the finals next week.
Celebrities spending money:
…the New York Post claims Angelina Jolie spent $1.6 million to purchase a helicopter and flying lessons for her man….Brad Pitt. They had a helicopter pad installed on the grounds of their home in South France.
Ryan Seacrest purchased a home yesterday! He bought Ellen Degeneres’ Beverly Hills estate. NOW – the sale price wasn’t disclosed – but Ellen had it listed for $49 million. (there is talk Ryan purchased it for $37 million). It’s 9,200 square feet, has 3 guest houses and sits on almost 3 acres of property. FYI – Ellen purchased the home for $29 million (but ended up buying adjacent properties).
More money talk:
…the Hollywood Reporter is claiming that Robert Downey Jr could earn close to $50 million for his role as Tony Stark/Ironman in “The Avengers”. Why? Because Robert’s agent negotiated the deal when he signed on for the first “Ironman”. The other “avengers” made around $3 million for their roles. Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett Johansson both earned around $8 million each.
TMZ.com is reporting that the first ‘masseur’ has dropped his lawsuit against John Travolta. Only known as “John Doe 1” – his lawyer asked him to find new representation, so John Doe said, it wasn’t worth going thru the process…and dropped the suit. John Doe 2’s lawyer says he has no plans to back down from the suit.
Jennifer Lopez has left a big question mark as far as her return to American Idol next season. She told Ellen Degeneres yesterday quote “I don’t know. I miss doing other things. It really locks you down”. She cited her 4 year old twins as being a major factor.

This week, all the major networks are unveiling their schedules for next season….and yesterday….FOX TV was in the spotlight with one particular show. Britney Spears and Demi Lovato are replacing Paula Abdul and Nicole Sherzinger as judges on “The X Factor”. Britney and Demi appeared at a press conference with Simon Cowell. Lots of people feel that Simon went for ‘names and buzz’ over ‘experience and credibility’. Simon defended the selections saying Britney is one of the biggest stars in the world.
There were some perfect scores on “Dancing With The Stars” last night. It’s down to the semi-final round, with 4 dancers remaining. Maria Menounos got a 30 for her ‘argentine tango’. William Levy got a perfect score for his salsa. Tonite, someone goes home. AND -–you can see performances from Carrie Underwood and Alanis Morisette.
More tv talk: GLEE has it’s 2 hour, 3rd season finale. Yesterday FOX also announced that next season, GLEE will move from Tuesday to Thursday nights. AND…Season 4 will see multiple episode appearances from Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson.
Singer Katy Perry announced that after her 3D movie is released in July, she is taking a break. She’s been going non-stop for 3 years and has produced 7 #1 singles in that time; 2 tours. She says she’s exhausted and needs some time to simply ‘relax’.
Just a random fact – the “Angry Birds” game has been downloaded 1 billion times for smartphones! Speaking of gaming: the “Call Of Duty” franchise has 10 million monthly ‘paid subscribers’ for their “elite service”.

Whitney Houston’s 19 year old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, brother Gary as well as sister-in-law and Whitney’s MOM, Cissy Houston – have all signed on for a new LIFETIME TV reality show. It will be called “The Houston Family Chronicles”. They’ve signed on for ‘ten’ one hour episodes! No start date has been announced.

Movie numbers – THE AVENGERS was the top film for the second weekend in a row. It took in $103 million from Friday to Sunday. AND, it has now officially reached the $1 billion total (for worldwide #’s). It got there in just 19 day!
…in second place, the horror comedy “Dark Shadows” starring Johnny Depp and Michell Pfeiffer. It earned just under $29 million.
The 24th season finale of SURVIVOR took place last night. AND, for the first time, all 5 finalists were women. At the end, Kim Spradlin won the competition…she was the heavy favorite to win…and took home $1 million.

Celebrity feud of the week: Oprah Winfrey and First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama? There’s talk that the 2 are not fans of each other. You can find it all in a new book called “Obama In The White House”. Michelle accuses Oprah of using the White House for TV ratings; the book also claims that after Michelle turned down an offer to go on Oprah’s show to discuss childhood obesity…Oprah claimed it was because Michelle believed that Oprah was not a good role model when it came to discussions about weight. There’s also talk that Michelle is jealous of her husband’s relationship with Oprah.

As we head into the Mother’s Day weekend – what celebs have made the list of the “Most Powerful Moms”? The list includes Hunger Games author “Suzanne Collins”; Angelina Jolie; Beyonce; Bridesmaids star Melissa McCarthy; and…..SPANX inventor, Sarah Blakely.
Who has the honour of being the face of the women’s fragrance “Chanel No. 5”? That would be 48 year old actor BRAD PITT. Yes, Brad is the company’s first male spokesperson, who received a high 7 figure payment. He’s shooting the first ad in London this weekend.
NBC’s “The Voice” is now over, and plans are underway for a third season. However, one of the judges, Cee Lo Green, said he will no longer accept the feud between Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera. He says it’s ‘growing old’ and should not be part of Season 3. “Us Weekly” reports that Christina is still quote, “livid” with Adam for constantly teasing her.

Speaking of Desperate Housewives – there’s some behind the scenes drama. After the final episode was filmed last month - the other ladies made it clear that they didn't want anything to do with Teri Hatcher. The cast even gave out luggage-tag parting gifts to the crew with Teri's signature noticeably missing. A show insider claims: "Since day one, it has always been Eva [Longoria], Marcia [Cross] and Felicity [Huffman] on one big team and Teri on her own team. She has never wanted to have anything to do with the other ladies. She entered the show thinking she was the star and is leaving it in the same manner."
AND…start adding them up. Things keep getting worse for John Travolta as allegations of sexual harrassment, battery and assault keep piling up. 2 male masseuses have each filed lawsuits. AND NOW, a former Royal Caribbean cruise ship employee has come forward. He claims John offered him $12,000 to strip down naked and give him a massage!

The not-always-reliable British tabloids are reporting that Rihanna is in talks to pose nude for Playboy. The deal will well be worth over $1 million. Here’s the funny thing – there’s talk that she has one concern: she doesn’t want to alienate her army of young fans who might think it’s a little risque. (it’s a bit ironic, considering she showed up to a White House event in a thong and see-through tube top).
Yesterday, we told you about this John Travolta scandal that’s making headlines. A male masseur is suing John for $2 million for ‘sexual battery’. NOW – a second person has come forward and is accusing him of ‘improper behaviour during a massage session at an Atlanta area resort. The story is being picked up by credible sources including CNN and People Magazine. Travolta stands by his denial of both these accusations.
In 12 days, “The Avengers” has earned over $700 million at theatres worldwide…….and this should come as no surprise: The Avengers 2 is already in development. It’s most likely going to be a few years down the road. Movies set to be released in the meantime, include “Thor 2”, “Iron Man 3” and a second “Captain America”
Music news: mark your calendar for June 26th – that’s the release date for Maroon 5’s new album called “Overexposed”. FYI – Adam Levine revealed that he was scared to release the single “Moves Like Jagger” – because he thought it was ‘too poppy’. He’s obviously happy it was released, as it reached #1 in over 15 countries.
Lady GaGa will get ‘Simpsonized’ – as she’ll appear as herself on the May 20th season finale of “The Simpsons”. She’ll be there to boost the spirits of Lisa, who’s become a social outcast (fyi – she’ll wear 18 different outfits in the episode)

Marvel’s “The Avengers” kicked some serious butt at the box office over the weekend. It opened in North American on Friday, and as of last night, it earned just over $200 million (in 3 days!!). That’s the BEST opening weekend of any film EVER.
…The Avengers opened one week ago overseas – that means the worldwide total take (in just 7 days) is…$640 million. This movie will definitely join the ‘billion dollar club’ fast.
Set your PVR’s for this Thursday nights episode of CBC’s “George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight”. Thunder Bay’s KEVIN DURAND is George’s guest. He’ll be there to talk about a couple of the projects he’s involved in. That includes his role in the Robert Pattinson film “Cosmopolis”; and the independent film “Edwyn Boyd – Citizen Gangster”, where Kevin was nominated for a ‘best supporting actor Genie Award”. Sad news in the ‘rap world’ over the weekend – one of the founding members of The Beastie Boys, Adam Yauch died after a 3 year battle with cancer. He was 47 years old. There’s been no comment from the other 2 members of the band yet. The Beastie Boys have been making music for over 25 years…and sold over 40 million ablums.

…Finn and Rachel from GLEE (Cory Monteith and Lea Michele) – are a couple in real life, and STAR magazine reports Cory is moving into Lea’s $1.4 million home in L.A.
Yesterday we told you that Jessica Simpson gave birth to a baby girl. Also, that her baby photos will be worth close to $750,000 to some tabloit out there. Now there’s news that she’s signed a $3 million deal to lose weight with Weight Watchers. There’s also talk that she’s already in talks to make a bunch of baby and mom-friendly products to go with her already successful fashion empire (she already takes home close to $15 million a year from that).
Bobby Brown was on The Today Show yesterday morning – and he told host Matt Lauer that he often thinks whether or not he could have done something to safe Whitney Houston. He also denied getting her hooked on drugs.

Star Trek fans take note: JJ Abrams confirmed the follow up to the 2009 Star Trek movie is in the works. It’ll hit theatres in late 2013. 81 year old Leonard Nemoy who played TV’s “Spock” is set to come out of retirement, and play the ‘older version’ of his character.

Goodbye URKEL. Jaleel White was eliminated last night on Dancing With The Stars. Jaleel was known for a not-so-good temper during rehearsals thru-out the season. FYI – Dancing With The Stars is the number one show on TV right now!!
Finally – she gave birth! Jessica Simspon and Eric Johnson are proud new parents of a healthy baby girl they named “Maxwell”. Insiders are already talking about how much the baby photos will be worth. That number is said to be around $750,000. FYI – she’s currently staying in a $4,000 a night maternity suite at Cedars Sinai Medical Ctr in L.A.
Ashton Kutcher officially signed the deal to return to “Two And A Half Men”. It’s a one-year deal that’ll pay him $700,000 an episode. (x’s 22 episodes….doing the math…that equals: $15.4 million for a half a year of work!) Jon Cryer will make $660,000 per show; and 18 year old Angus T. Jones will make $250,000 per episode.

It’s definitely one of the biggest stories in entertainment today – some may say he was one of the most important men in the history of radio and rock and roll……..Dick Clark passed away yesterday at the age of 82. He died of a massive heart attack, after having some kind of outpatient medical procedure the night before
…Dick suffered a stroke 8 years ago, but continued to make brief, annual appearances on “Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve”, which he created back in 1972. He of course was famous for “American Bandstand” – which went national on ABC back in 1957, and ran for 30 years! Almost every artist at the time, wanted a stint on Bandstand. From Michael Jackson to Madonna, to KISS and everything in between!
In other news: Last month there were pictures of Madonna’s 15 year old daughter Lourdes smoking. Apparently, everyone took it out on Madonna, and blamed her. Last night on NBC’s “Rock Centre”, Madonna revealed that she doesn’t feel she was as tough as she should be on her daughter. She says she’s not very fond of her smoking.
Fans of “Arrested Development” are anxiously awaiting the return of the show’s 4th season. Here’s what you need to know: it will premiere on Netflix early next year. In fact, all 10 episodes will hit Netflix on the same day. All 3 seasons of Arrested Development are already streaming on Netflix.

Another celeb was sent packinig last night on “Dancing With The Stars”. It was down to Jaleel White and singer Gavin DeGraw. They went head to head in a ‘dance duel’………..and Gavin was elminated by the judges! This was the first time the judges had the final say on who went home.
If you saw NBC’s “The Voice” last night – Justin Bieber premiered his video for “Boyfriend”. He also promised to come back to the show in 3 weeks and perform the song ‘live’ for the first time. AND, he also revealed the new album title called “Believe”, and it will hit stores on June 19th
On Monday, we told you that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are engaged. E News is reporting that magazines are now fighting to see who will ge the official wedding photos published (when the wedding happens). There’s talk that the pics could be worth close to $10 million.
…fyi – Britain’s “Hello” magazine paid $14 million for Brad and Angelina’s twins, Knox and Vivienne back in 2008.
ABC is facing a class action lawsuit against “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette”. 2 African American men have filed the suit. They claim they both auditioned for The Bachelor, but were immediately dismissed and weren’t even considered. There have been 23 total seasons of The Bachelor and Bachelorette, and NONE of them have starred a non-white contestant. There’s no response yet from ABC.
Nelly Furtado fans…mark your calendar. She’ll release her first English language album since 2006. June 18th, is the date for “The Spirit Indestructible”. She co-wrote every song on the ablum, and is very excited to be back in the scene!

Did you hear about Pippa Middleton’s drama the other day? She was facing jail time over the weekend after she was riding in a car while the driver was waving a gun at a photographer. Reports now say the gun was a toy. Police in Paris say they are not going to investigate. There was talk on Monday that she and the others in the car could have faced up to 2 years in prison.

Random headline from The National Enquirer. Oprah Winfrey and her boyfriend Stedman Graham…have been dating for 25 years! The Enquirer is now claiming that Oprah proposed to Stedman, and wants to air the wedding on her OWN network. The reason she wants to air it on the OWN Network, is so she can save her channel. Tv insiders claim this could be bigger than the Royal Wedding.
A 52 year old woman who requires a cane to walk long distances is suing actor JOHNNY DEPP, because she claims Depps bodyguards ‘tortured’ her at a concert in L.A back in December. She claims she had multiple run-ins with his bodyguards in the VIP area. She goes on to say they caused severe injury to her wrists, arms and body. Reps for Johnny Depp have not responded to this lawsuit, just filed yesterday!
If you break up with your fiance….and you feel bad about it – you should do what Simon Cowell did over the weekend. First – you’ll recall back in January, Simon called off his engagement to his girlfriend. Simon claims he’s a ‘hopeless boyfriend’. He felt bad, so…over the weekend, he bought his ex-fiance….and $8 million mansion in the L.A area. In fact, the home is just down the street from his own $12 million mansion.
Harry Potter fans get ready – author J.K Rowling has announced that she’s working on another Harry Potter book!!! It’s a ‘Harry Potter Encyclopedia’. Apparently she’s been promising this for a while – with 100% of the proceedsd going to charity.
…fyi – her first non-Harry Potter book, “The Casual Vacancy” hits book shelves in late September.

Movie numbers: It’s 4 straight weekends in a row at number one! THE HUNGER GAMES topped the box office again – adding $21.5 million. It’s worldwide total is now over $530 million. Opening in second was the comedy THE THREE STOOGES – it earned just over $17 million. THE CABIN IN THE WOODS was 3rd with close to $15 million.
The National Enquirer will have people talking this morning. They have sources that claim NBC Today Show Host MATT LAUER has an illegitimate 3 year old son with his co-anchor Natalie Morales. They go on to say that this ‘love child scanda’ is the ‘worst kept secret among the network morning shows’. Matt is married and so is Natalie. No word from either yet.
6 years ago, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie said they wouldn’t get married until ‘gay marriage’ was legalized nationwide. They tried hard to keep that promise – until now. Brad and Angelina are engaged. Their reps have confirmed this. They admit, it was their kids who were giving them pressure, telling them to ‘get married’.
The boy band ONE DIRECTION is back in the news. 18 year old Harry Styles has asked out 32 year old Jillian Harris (that name might sound familiar, she was The Bachelorette back in 2009 – she’s from Peace River, Alberta). FYI – she rejected his offer – as he’s too young for her!

…Oprah Winfrey is set to star in his first movie role in 14 years. It’s called “The Butler”, and it’s being dubbed as a ‘black version of Forrest Gump.

It was a tense night on American Idol. AND IT ALL STARTED on the entertainment website TMZ.com earlier in the afternoon. Yesterday, TMZ.com claimed they had a source that confirmed that Jessica Sanchez was the contestant that would be voted off later in the evening. AND, they went on to confirm that producers were pretty much telling the judges to use their only ‘save’ of the season on Jessica.
…well – if you saw the show – guess what happened? It was Elise and Jessica in the bottom 2, and Jessica was going home. She started singing her ‘goodbye’ song, and the judges…………..SAVED HER!
If you can’t get enough of Jennifer Lopez on American Idol – well, get ready to see her live!! She’s preparing to announce her first-ever world tour – over 60 dates. She’ll start in South America in June and make her way to the US and Canada. She’ll reveal all the details next week!
Did you hear this strange story about 74 year old actor Morgan Freeman? There’s been talk that he’s in a relationship with his 27 year old step grandaugther. He’s stayed quiet on this until yesterday, when it was revealed that the couple is getting married! He quickly shot those rumors down. CNN even got on the story. E’Deena, the step grand-daughter announced that those rumors are false and hurftul to her family.
It’s no secret that tween girls everywhere are in loved with the boy band ONE DIRECTION. They’re really becoming a big deal. Here’s proof: a piece of toast that was partially eaten by Niall (the blonde one) drew bids of $100,000 on Ebay. In fact, there are 2 bids in that range, so unless both of them are frauds – someone just dropped $100 grand on a piece of toast!
As people flock to theatres to see TITANIC in 3D, movie-goers in China are quickly realizing, they’re not getting exactly the whole picture. Film censors in China determined that the scene where Kate Winslet is topless, while being sketched by Leonard DiCaprio’s character has been edited, and only shows her from the neck up. The Chinese Governement believes that with the 3D effects, they fear viewers may reach out their hands for a touch, and interrupt other people’s viewing!!!

Over the past month, there’s been a lot of talk that Simon Cowell has landed Britney Spears to be a judge on “The X Factor” – but there’s no official announcement. Now comes word on E News – that money was the sticking point, but both sides have agreed on that now. That figure is said to be $15 million. X Factor still needs another judge.
Music news – Niki Minaj just scored her second #1 album with “Pink Friday – Roman Reloaded”. It sold 253,000 copies in that last 7 days. Adele’s 15 month old album “21” is at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Charts – and managed to move 153,000 copies last week. Worldwide, Adele’s “21” has sold just over 20 million copies.
Soap opera fans take note – GENERAL HOSPITAL will be able to celebrate its 50th anniversary after all. The show was going toward cancellation, however, ABC has renewed the daytime drama

Mark your calendar – April 22nd, they’re going to re-air the pilot to “Married…With Children”. AND, it will feature an encore of “The Simpsons” 500th episode, followed by the networks official Anniverary Special.
Lots of drama going on in the world of Alec Baldwin. He’s been a media target this week after an alleged stalker claimed to have an affair with him. Then, he blasted his own network, NBC for having staff from The Today Show camp outside his New York City apartment. Then, yesterday, he tweeted that he’s leaving NBC (which got lots of people talking, as he is one of the stars of “30 Rock”)

Let’s start with a ‘celebrity commando’ story. Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend are furious at photograhpers, after the snapped Miley without underwear over the weekend. They know there is nothing they can do about it, but, Liam Hemsworth (Miley’s boyfriend) says she is very embarassed the papparazzi got a shot.
Madonna has broken a really great record, and a really bad one. First, the good news: she’s officially scored her 42nd number one hit on the Billboard Dance / Club Play Chart with the song “Girl Gond Wild”. The bad news: she’ll set the record for the ‘biggest second week drop in sales in chart history’. According to Forbes.com, her first week of album sales for “MDNA” were 359,000. Last week, it dropped by 88%…and sold only 46,000 copies last week!!!
Us Weekly claims that it was Adam Levine who got dumped. Adam had no idea that his girlfriend of 2 years, had any intention of breaking up with him, until she announced it to the world, 11 days ago. Sources say he’s heartbroken. There is talk that she wanted to get married, and Adam had no intention of proposing anytime soon.
Tension is building in the divorce settlement between model Heidi Klum and singer Seal. Seal wants ‘joint physical custody’ of their 4 children. Heidi wants primary custody, and both are looking to deny spousal support to each other. At last check, Heidi is worth $70 million; Seal is worth $15 million.
Simpsons fans got a nice surprise yesterday, after creator Matt Groening revealed the inspiration for the Simpson’s hometown of Springfield. The running story for over 20 seasons, was that Springfield could have been anywhere…and left it up to people’s imagination. Yesterday, Matt revealed that SPRINGFIELD was named after Springfield, Oregon. (FYI – there are 34 Sprinfield’s in the U.S)
It was GOODBYE to Sherri Shephard last night on Dancing With The Stars. AND, it was revealed that Melissa Gilbert suffered a mild concussion after hitting her head of her dancing partner. She was not at the live show last night, but is expected back next week.
…OVER ON “AMERICAN IDOL” tonight; singer, songwriter, and producer AKON will mentor the Top 7 contestants. The theme is “THIS DECADE”…which will obviously be songs from 2010, 2011 and this year.
