There will be a Breakfast Fundraiser at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 5 on Sunday, September 12, in the Imperial Hall, from 10am to 1pm. Adults are $7 and children under 12 are $3. Everyone is welcome. For more information call Audrey at 683-6324.


There will be a Buffet Style Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, September 11th at the Nolalu Community Centre, 2266-Hwy. 588, Nolalu. Take-Out is from 3 to 5pm and Eat-In is from 5pm to 7pm. The Menu includes Spaghetti and Meatballs, Caesar Salad, Garlic Bread, Hot and Cold Beverages and Desserts. Adults are $8.00, children are $6.00 and children under 5 are free!. On October 2nd at the Port Arthur Prosvita there will be a traditional Oktoberfest for the Kidney Foundation. Tickets are $10 and include a traditional bratwurst and sauerkraut and a pretzel. Music will be by Quest. Tickets are available at the Kidney Offices at 605 Hewitson Str., the PA Proz, Brent Park Store, Vienna Bakery and Rollason Flowers.


There will be a Fundraiser for the Lupus Ontario’s Fellowship at SickKids Hospital on October 1st at ScuttleButt's at 8pm.. The fundraiser will feature Chris Krienke & Band as well as raffles with fabulous prizes. There will be a Plowing Match held at the Agriplex on Hwy 130, on September 11, 2010. This is a public event where local farmers come out and plow their plots and are judged. The winners can go on to the Canadian and the World Championships.


Catholic Family Development Centre - will be holding their next Clothing Exchange on Oct. 16th @ St. Michael and All Angels - 675 Red River Road; 9a.m. - 2p.m. Drop off of clothing at 380 Dufferin St. between 9-5p (closed 12p-1p).
